Family Meat Loaf: 2 lb meat loaf mix(Giant Food carries), 1 large egg, 1/2 can Tomato Sauce(15oz can), 1 cupProgresso Italian bread crumbs, 1 chopped onion Form into a loaf and place in a 9x12 dish at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes and baste every 15 minutes. Sauce for Meat Loaf 2 tbsp Brown Sugar Dark, 2 tbsp regular vinegar, 1 cup warm water, 2 tbsp regular mustard, 1/2 can Tomato Sauce Stir and mix ingredients for sauce and pour over loaf. Do not need to cover.

Family Chili: l lb ground beef(sirloin or extra lean), 1 medium onion(chopped), Salt and Pepper to taste, 1 Bay Leaf(large) 1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce, l bottle Chili Sauce(Heinz or Hunt's best), 1 pkg mild chili seasoning mix(McCormick), 1(15oz) Tomato Sauce(Hunt's), 1(15oz) chopped Tomatoes in their own Juice, 2(16oz) cans dark Red Kidney Beans, Optional: 1 green pepper(chopped) Brown ground beef and onion, add salt & pepper to taste. When completely cooked(red not showing), draining, then add to a 3 quart size Crock Pot. Add all other ingredients to Crock Pot and mix ground beef mixture and other ingredients together. Cover the Crock Pot and cook on high for 2-3 hours or on low for 5-6 hours. Remove the bay leaf. Makes 6-7 servings. Double everything for a 5 quart Crock Pot.

Lasnagna: Prepare sauce by browning in saucepan 1 small diced onion and 1 clove of garlic in 1/4 cup of olive oil. Add 1 large can tomatoes, 1 tbsp chopped parsley, 3 basil leaves, salt and pepper to taste, 1 can tomato paste and simmer for 15 minutes. Prepare meatballs by mixing thoroughly 1/2 lb chopped round steak, 1/4 cup Italian bread crumbs, 1/8 cup milk, 1 beaten egg, 3 tbsp grated cheese, 2 tbsp chopped parsley, salt and pepper to taste. Shape meatballs. Brown in olive oil; add meatballs in sauce. Simmer 30 minutes. While sauce is simmering, boil 6 quarts of water. Add 3 tbsp of salt. When boiling rapidly, slowly add lasnagna noodles. Cook for 15 minutes. Drain well. Before arranging casserole, separate meatballs from sauce. Crush meatballs to allow for proper spreading between layers. Arrange casserole with several spoons full of sauce on bottom, then a layer of noodles, several slices of mozzarella cheese. Next 4-5 tbsp ricotta or cottage cheese, sprinkle with grated cheese. Finally, spread 1/4 of sauce and 1/4 of crushed meatballs. Repeat, ending with a layer of lasnagna noodles, sauce and top with grated cheese. Bake 20 minutes in moderate oven (350 degrees). Serves 6. Quick and Easy Method: Follow the same procedure as above except use 2 cans meat sauce and 1 can meatballs with sauce instead of preparing them. Saves hours of work and bought sauces are ok.

Hungarian Goulash: 2 lbs stew beef lean, 1 tsp nutmeg, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1 tsp allspice, 1 bay leaf, l large can tomatoes with liquid, flour to cover meat, 1 small onion, l bag frozen peas, 1 bag egg noodles, Vegetable oil for browning meat. Cover stew beef with flour and add to skillet along with 1 onion diced in oil. Brown beef and remove. Using Dutch oven put stew beef and onion in and add remaining ingredients. Simmer on low for two hours until done. One half hour before done add peas to mixture and boil water and add noodles to it and cook until done. Remove bay leaf. Place noodles on to serving plate and place mixture on top of noodles.

Chicken Fricassee: Cut up and flour, salt and pepper the chicken. Add 3 tbsp fat to pan. Brown chicken and remove grease. Replace chicken, meaty side down. Season with 1/2 tsp poultry seasoning. Add slowly 1 1/2 cup of water, broth, cream of mushroom soup, cream of celery soup. Add 1 large onion diced, 1/2 cup celery or carrots or mixed vegetables. Add 1 (4 oz) can sliced mushrooms, optional. When liquid is boiling, cover and simmer 2-3 hours, until tender.
